☆30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge Days 19 and 20☆

Hey there everyone~! I am really sorry about seemingly abandoning this blog for such a long time! It's the last few weeks of school, which of course means I have several projects, constant tests, AP exams, and all sorts of boring school related work to do! Prom was this past weekend as well, and I went with some friends, so I've been busy getting ready for that for a while! Speaking of which, let me know if yo would like to see any prom photos here! I probably won't post them unless you would like me to ;u;.

But anyways, it's just been an extremely chaotic month! I haven't done much of anything interesting lately at all so there hasn't been anything to blog about, plus I've just been super school busy and its been awful hahaha.Oh well! I'm back now, though I will be officially switching to weekly posts for a while, since I've been doing that anyways!

Well, since I was gone for sooo long, and feel bad about not having at least an image post, have some more 30 day challenge goodness! ;u;!

Day nineteen: 5 of your favorite toys.

Oh man, this is fun! It was a total blast to go through all of my stuffed animals and goodies to find my favorites ;u;~

I love my magic wand! I twirl it and mess with it all the time haha! I even take it with me sometimes because it'll match an outfit ;u;! for sure my absolute favorite~

This little telephone that I thrifted is so cute and fun haha! It really reminds me of something that would be shown off in the Spank! stores. ;u; I love picking up the receiver and just saying random phrases, and if I'm chilling in my room I do it all the time for some reason haha! It's just fun ;u;.

Third is definitely this super sweet baby Cheer Bear that Caylee got for me!! I love this sweetie so much!

This cash register!! I found it a while ago at a thrift store, and I've kept accessories in it since ;u; I love that it makes a "Ka-ching!" sound when you press the button to open it~

And do scented bubbles count as a toy? Too bad if not! sometimes My friends will blow the bubbles And I'll have to pop them with my magic wand, which I am not very good at! It's always pretty funny ahaha

Day twenty: What do you see in Fairy-Kei in general in the next 5 years?

I totally see it straying more from where it is now, maybe in a completely wild and care free way! It's already such a super free style, that I wouldn't be surprised to see it branch out further and further ;u;. Its already more or less limitless, so I think it's got a lot of potential to totally expand ;u;! I don't have any solid predictions, but that's why it's so fun ;v;!!

Thanks for looking everyone! I promise I'll post again soon~!

☆30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge! Days 14-18 & Art Post!☆

Hey, everyone! I'm sorry about the weird posting schedule lately! School and other things have been pretty intense lately, and I haven't had much time for blogging at all ;A;! I don't want to leave this blog totally bare, though, so have four more days of the 30 day fairy kei challenge!

Day fourteen: Do you have any hobbies that you could consider Fairy-Kei?

I suppose fair kei hobbies would include collecting old cute 80s things or crafting? If that's so then, sure! I'm not an avid collector, sadly, so even though I claim a lot of "collections" it's usually not more than five items per "collection" of mine hahaha. I collect Care Bears and Unicorns! I would love to start collecting 80s magical girl items as well~!

Care Bears, Unicorns, and other stuffed animals on my bed~

I also craft, draw, and sew and love diy in general, though I'm usually either too busy or lazy to do a lot of it haha!

Day fiveteen: Something you or a friend made themselves

I didn't make this, My friend Jesse did, but it's so perfect and cute! I love it a lot, so I wanted to share it here! I haven't done a whole lot of crafting at all lately, aside from the objects in my shop, so I don't have much of anything new to share ;u;

Day sixteen: How did you dress before Fairy-Kei?

I used to dress in lolita, and other than that usually circus-inspired style!  I mostly wore combos of Black, white and pink.

Lolita~!
I think this was the outfit I wore to see  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1! I could be wrong though hahaha.

This is a petty old circus-centric outfit! you can tell especially because my walls were still beige haha. It's from January 16th, 2010! I'm pretty sure this was an outfit for school, but I'm not sure haha.

Day seventeen: Do you dress in also another style, e.g. Lolita.

Not so much anymore! I still like to look at lolita and see it on others, but It's not really a part of my fashion zone anymore, so I've decided to more or less stop wearing it all together.

I do dress in uchuu kei whenever it suits me, though (And I swear I am working that blog post! It's just pretty hard to put together information and references for a style that doesn't really exist haha.)! My wardrobe for that is still super limited, and because of my schedule lately I haven't been able to make a whole lot of things to match the outer space aesthetic~

Day eighteen: How do you dress when you go to school?

Most of my outfit shots that I have are probably from going to school! That's where I go the most often, and I don't see a big point in having a fairy kei wardrobe and a wardrobe of "school clothes", so I just wear fairy kei or uchuu kei or whatever! Check out my outfit shot tag if you'd like to see some school coordinates~ ;u;!

I also wanted to share with you a shop promo I did for my grand opening! I thought I already had shown it here, but since I haven't I will!

There are only four more days to take advantage of the free gift! I'll be adding more stock after that, so please check out Millions of Bows Shop!

Also, if you'd like to see the full sized art, you can see her over on my Deviantart~!

Thanks for looking!

☆30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge Days 9-12!☆

Hi everyone! Sorry posts are pretty slow lately, lots of stuff has been going on with school and other things so posting has been difficult ;v;. I do have a few more days of the 30 day fairy kei challenge though ;v;!

Day nine: Your most treasured piece of clothing.

This cutsew! I made it myself, and even just the materials I used are filled with memories. It really represents my style and I definitely treasure it.

Day ten: How do you react to positive comments or people curious about your style on the streets?

Always, greatfully! Getting a complement on my style always makes me very happy, because a lot of people would ridicule it to. It's great to find people who say they admire me for the guts I have to wear the clothes I do.

Day eleven: How do you react to the negative ones?
If I overhear something negative, I usually just purse my lips and keep going on my way. It's best to ignore them, since your style is something for you, not them.

Day twelve: The craziest coord youve ever worn.

Hahahah, I was having a sleepover and we both wanted to play dress up and go somewhere ;v;. Though we only went to the thrift store it was a lot of fun to dress up so crazily and wear it out :D

later on I noticed that I made about 90% of everything I'm,wearing here!

Thanks so much for looking! hopefully I'll be back to posting regularly by the end of the month ;v;!

☆ 30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge Days 7 and 8 ☆!

Hello everyone! Winter break has finally started for me! I'm so relieved to be out of school for two weeks *v*! I've been busy with friends and holiday shopping for the past few days though, so I haven't posted anything! Sorry about that hahaha. I'm going to go ahead and continue with the 30 day fairy kei challenge today , so I won't be leaving this blog completely postless ;v;~!

Day seven: 5 songs that remind you of Fairy-Kei.
These are in no particular order,

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - Choudo ii no

How could I not have kyary~? This song in particular might be my favorite from her mini album, and for some reason it does give me a pretty fairy kei feel ;u;.

Aira Mitsuki - Sayonara TECHNOPOLiS

Sonic Coaster Pop - My Star (Star Star Mix)

This song reminds me more of Uchuu kei, but I sort of consider it a sect of fairy kei so it still counts here ~.

KIRAKIRA MAJOCCO CLUV album - Delicate ni Sukishite

This entire album reminds me of fairy kei! Magical girl songs remixed into club music~! The vocals aren't all that great but I really enjoy the interpretations of some of these songs *v*. This is one out of two mixes of the theme song for the 1983 anime, Creamy Mami! I always forget the specific artists names though, since it's a collab album.

Marino - flavor

I think I found Marino a little over a year or so ago, around when I was really trying to get into wearing fairy kei! Her songs are really really cute, and what she has out was also produced by Yasutaka Nakata (produces kyary, perfume, and is part of capsule)!

Day eight: How do your family and friends feel about the style?

Basically the same way they felt about me in lolita! They accept it easily and support me. The general silhouette of fairy kei is a lot less noticeable than lolita too, so they might even be a little relived? They haven't said anything about it though. I'm so grateful that have such great friends and a wonderful family that will just let me be me ;v;!

Thanks so much for looking you guys! I'll try not to leave you hanging during the break ;v;! I hope everyone else on holiday breaks has a really nice relaxing and fun one, and that you all enjoy the holiday season ☆!

☆ 30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge Days 5 and 6 ☆!

Hi everyone! Finals start next week so I don't have any sort of exciting posts prepared for you, but I still want to update on time! Therefore, I'll throw another two days of the thirty day fairy kei challenge at you!

☆ Day five: 5 of your favourite places to buy your clothes.
I don't really buy clothes in many places for fairy kei, it's usually either one of these two.
1. Handmaking stuff - It's really cheap and fufilling! You can also match your style completely when you do so.
2. Thrift Stores - Probably a good 50% of my wardrobe comes from thrifting.

But if my budget allowed for it, I would definitely also be buying tons of clothes from Spank!, Milklim, and galaxxxy.

☆ Day six: Your luckiest thrift-store find.

Probably my platform sneakers! I wear them all the time, and I've been thinking about painting them soon. I sort of wish I could find another pair so I couldhave one painted and the other white, since its nice to have shoes that match with almost everything ;v;.

Thanks for looking! Have a great day everyone ☆!

Updates and ☆30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge Days 2 and 4☆!

Hello hello everyone! I just got home from visiting with my grandmother in Florida today and have a few things to share, but nothing too big, so I'll also balance this post out with some challenge days ;u;!

First, I hope everyone who celebrated had a great Thanksgiving holiday, and perhaps caught some great Black Friday deals? I've never been shopping on black friday, but we did stop by a wal mart on Thursday night to pick up some water, and it was already packed with people picking out their treasures ;A;! It seems scary haha xD. Anyways, I wanted to share with you my outfit on thanksgiving

~Rundown~
Tops ~ Offbrand, Handmade
Shorts ~ forever21
Leggings and socks ~ offbrand
Accessories ~ offbrand, bodyline, and handmade

and these super cute post cards my grandmother picked up for me while she was in Epcot

The artists, from top left across to bottom right are
 Anthology
Eri Kamijo (both of them)
Konatsu
Imai Kira
and
Sugizaki Megumi

My brothers and I also got a few new video games, and if you want to see me completely derping out over one of them you can click here~

Moving on to the 30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge~!

Day two: Why and how you got into Fairy-Kei.

I'm thinking this was in 2008, and then I actually started dressing in fairy kei in 2009, but one of my friends, Rayven, got into it for a while. We were livejournal friends at the time, and I noticed she was following a feed (I'm remembering it was called "FuckyeahSpank!" or something very similar, but I'm not sure at this point;;) so I decided to follow it as well, because she had talked to me about fairy kei and shown me pict6ures and even before then I had seen it here and there. From following that feed I decided I really wanted to dress in fairy kei casually instead of wearing lolita all the time. I didn't really get to wardrobe building until winter 2009 though. The reason I got into it was because I found it unbearably cute, though, and I really liked the aesthetic!

I'm skipping day three because I've posted a room tour back on the 30 Day Lolita Challenge Day 22

Day four: 5 of your style-icons.

One ☆ hahaha, of course! Number one is Tavuchi herself~ The founder and owner of the Spank! stores.

Two ☆ No surprise here, another Spank! shopgirl, Eric! But can you blame me? These chicks have the greatest style!

Three ☆ Candy~! Can I direct you to her wardrobe post? And her super cute creations

Four  meow80s! I'm not sure of her name, but you can find her blog here
Her outfits are absolutely killer!

Five  I hate to only pick one of the two, so Yuka and Vani from 6%DOKIDOKI! These two are unbelievably adorable, and though I tent to stick to more subdued pastels, how can I not admire their super pop 6% style? Also, I adore this photoset of them *u*

Thanks for looking you guys! I should be back to posting regularly sometime after finals, but schools certainly killing me so I won't have a whole lot of interesting content until after then. I am, however working on items for that shop I'll soon be opening, so don't think I've abandoned that idea just yet!

☆ 30 Day Fairy Kei Challenge START!☆

Kind of silly to start another one so soon, don't you think? Oh well, I've already missed having it around just for the sake of easy posting xD.  I have a lot of projects I should be working on and finals are comming up pretty soon, so I probably won't have much to actually update on for a little while (Unless you're interested in my science fair project, but lets face it, I'm not even interested in that). Like when I started the 30 day lolita challenege, I figure it will help me to post something or another even during really busy times ;u;. I won't be doing the ones that are similar to prompts I've done for the 30 day lolita challenge though~! I'm pretty excited about this one though, a lot of the days seem like a lot of fun :D!

Day twenty-seven: Your dream job?

Day twenty-eight: 5 of your favourite places.

Day twenty-nine: Your favourite colour-combo.

Day thirty!: Do you see yourself wearing Fairy Kei in 5 years time?

So lets begin with day 1!

Day one: 5 things you like and 5 things you dislike about Fairy-Kei.

Here are five of my favorite things about fairy kei~

1. The freedom of the style! There's just SO much you can do with it. Theres no way to really define what
fairy kei is, aside from some elements of the style that are commonly used (colors, characters, fabrics). That means its different for everyone and you can really be free and express yourself throguh this style! Thats the best aprt abou tit in my opinion ;u;!

2. The colors! I can't tell you how it brightens my day to see a bunch of pastels in my closet ;u;. Also, it really saves time doing laundry xD!

3. The stereotype. I know it seems a bit odd, but in my mind the typical fairy kei girl is all about breaking free from society and drowining in cutesy creativity. An adorable anarchy girl!  I personally really like that sort of image xD

4. The community ~ It's really quite relaxed! There's really little to no hate around it and that's extremely refreshing coming from lolita, where there can be a lot of negative energy.

5.  Last but not least, The handmade aspect! A lot of popular fairy kei accessories and even clothes are easy for anyone to make! Even some the Spank! brand things have that handmade cuteness~. It's really very cool to me how common crafting and sewing is within fairy kei. Even with thrifting or going second-hand shopping it's just great how you can find items that characterize your own one of a kind style~.

And 5 dislikes!

1. The names for the style. I'm more or less indifferent about it at this point, but a lot of discussion and no real solution always comes about with the three different names fairy kei, spank! kei, and popkei. I personally consider spank! kei a thing (though many others don't, and that's okay too!), but I group all of these sects of the style under the name "Fairy Kei". I just dislike how complex it appears to be.

2. The community. Confusing, huh? There are a few aspects of the community that I wish were different, and mostly it's that we're not as close knit as we could be! I know of a few fairy kei girls and guys, local and not so, and I really really wish that we could get closer. Maybe having an active local lolita community has spoiled me, but I think we should totally have fairy kei meetup or something too~!

3. It's still pretty unknown in the west ;A;. On a few occasions people have asked if I was in lolita while in fairy kei, and while I love how known lolita is becoming, I wish fairy kei would reach that level too! There's some great stuff going on to remedy that though! Check out Sweet Streets, for example, who just recently had a Spank & Chubby Bunny pop up shop in LA!

I really can't think of any other things to dislike! xD I suppose that's a good thing though ~ ;u;  I'll try to maybe finish this one in less than six months, but who knows how long it'll take me?

Thanks for looking!

30 Day Lolita Challenge Complete! Days 27-30!

Hey everyone ;u;! Sorry again for the wait. Life's been pretty intense lately with finals coming up and all ;A;  I'll try to not let another week pass between now and the next post! Anyways, today I'll be finishing up the 30 Day lolita challenge. It's so strange to be finishing up this challenge, finally! I started it in May, six months ago! Definitely not completed in 30 days but I'm so so so glad that I've finally gotten there. Anyways, lets go ahead and finish it all up!

Day 27 – One song that fits your favorite lolita style.

It doesn't fit literately with either the lyrics or the visual, but I feel like the sound of it in a roundabout way sort of gets at what the style I like ~ elegant and sweet ;u; Plus I really like this double single perfume put out earlier this month xD.

Day 28 – A picture of the perfect lolita location.

At first it was hard to think of a perfect lolita place, but then it hit me! Somewhere just as magical and wonderful as the style itself - Disneyland! Unfortunately, Disney is pretty well known for refusing people too elaborately dressed entrance to their parks, mostly because of the possibility for people to mistake them as employees and somehow disgrace the park ;^;. I'm sure I've seen pictures of loltias at Tokyo Disney, though, so it might just be a U.S thing. I'm not entirely sure ;A;.

Day 29 – A picture of a lolita you would love to meet for real.

Julie Doll! I can't explain how much I admire her and adore all of her outfits ;v;. She seems like so much fun too ;v;. I'd love to meet her and hang out some day ;v;~!

Day 30 – A photo of yourself taken today and 3 good things that’s happened over the last 30
days.

Me today~! Not in lolita (or really dressed up at all ) you'll surely notice haha xD
Moving on to the three good things that have happened~

The first good thing thats happened has been my family getting our first dog, Bear! I love him too much to type out hahaha xD Sadly I don't have any pictures of him handy right now ;A;.

The second good thing has to be that everything is still going well for me! It's certainly wonderful that nothing horrible has happened in the last six months ;u;.

The last good thing that's happened over the last six months is that I've sort of fallen out of love with lolita. It's probably weird that I'm counting that as a good thing, but to me it's sort of like moving on and figuring myself out just a little bit more.
I still really do enjoy looking at the style and occasionally wearing it but something about it doesn't give me the same feeling it used to. It's maybe just that my tastes have moved on to more fairy-kei style things. I won't say that I'm "leaving lolita" or not ever going to wear it again, because I surely will. Probably only for big events or the occasional meetup though. It's just that it's not as big a thing as it was for me six months ago, and I'm happy that I'm finally okay with that!

Thanks for looking~!

October Nails and 30 Day Challenge days 23-26!

Hey, everyone! I'm so sorry for that unannounced blogging hiatus there @~@! Last Thursday, I caught a cold and pretty much slept through Friday and Saturday. I did go out with friends on Sunday, but because I'm still camera-less I couldn't really document it for a post ;A;.The truth is, lately I haven't really been up to anything whatsoever (other than schoolwork and avoiding said schoolwork), which makes for a seriously boring blog xD. I feel pretty bad leaving you guys hanging for so long, and I wish I had some sort of knock-your-socks-off post, but all I've got are my October nails, and a few days of the 30 day lolita challenge for you!

These were my nails for AWA! I left them out of that post on accident, but I still want to show you ;u;. I did them really hurriedly to match Fantastic Dolly, since that's what I was wearing on Saturday ;u;.

I actually planned on only wearing this design for that Saturday, and doing different nails for sunday but I was way too exhausted after I had arrived home to even think about spending an hour on my nails xD

And these are my October/Halloween nails! I probably did these around the 16th or 17th instead of the 4th or 5th like I had planned, mostly because of school work and not having time to sit and relax an paint nails ;A;.

So you can see the "bats" and "pumpkins" right side up

I do like them a lot though, even though some of the "bats" are more like blobs, and I don't know if I should even call those orange blobs pumpkins xD. I did it without any special art brushes or pens though, and so far people have been able to tell that they're not just color blobs, so I guess that's good! They're pretty messy and rushed  though xD. I had no patience to tape for the stripes this time haha.

Now for that 30-day challenge~  I'm going to do quite a few days since I've been gone so long! It's weird how close I am to finishing it!

Day 23 - A picture of your handwriting

hahaha my handwriting is a mess xD I've always been jealous of people with perfect tiny neat handwriting, but think this sort of suits me, however messy it may be! I remember in 5th or 6th grade practicing really hard to change my handwriting so it looked more like this instead of however it used to be, so I've no real complaints :P

Day 24 - A picture of you from a meet

I feel so sad because I haven't been to a meet in a while! This was the most recent one I went to where I was actually in lolita, and it was back in June I think. I miss going to them so much though, I hope I can make some of them this month or next.

Day 25 - Your favorite lolita themed artwork

It's so hard to choose! I really love the Lolita themed art my friend Ayu does, you should all check it out!
I think this one might be my favorite that she's done ;u; Click on the picture for a link to her DA!

I also really enjoy Crazy Spork I Am''s art! Even though this isn't a finished picture, It's my favorite thing I've seen form her, probably because I'm such a Dream Sky fan! Click on the picture for a link to her tumblr! (Not sure if thats where she mainly posts art, but she does post it there!)

Day 26 - Your Facebook profile picture

Oops~! This one's not a lolita picture at all! I'm sure you guys don't mind too much though ;u;

I think thats still from my birthday haha! I should change it soon~
I don't mind anyone adding me on my facebook by the way, so if you'd like to don't hesitate ;u;! A note that you were directed from my blog would be nice though~

Thanks so much for looking! I'll be sure to not let another week or longer pass between now and my next post. Thanks for sticking with me ;u;!
